Robert Gordon “Bob” Harris, 77, of Timmonsville, SC, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018. Mr. Harris was born the son of the late Viola Alice McNeil and Fred Benjamin Harris. He was born in Raeford, North Carolina and grew up in Mt. Gilead, North Carolina. He was founder and owner of Harris Pest Control, Inc. Mr. Harris was an active member of the South Carolina Pest Control Association where he was a former member of the Board of Directors. He was a former President of the Pee Dee Pest Control Association. Mr. Harris was an avid offshore fisherman and a former member of the Blue Water Fish Club of which he was a former President. He was a long-time member of Elim Bible Church where he also served as deacon. Mr. Harris also had a great passion for Camp Kemo. He and his company contributed each year to the annual Clay Shoot for Children’s Cancer held by the Pee Dee and Midlands Pest Control Associations. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, William Benjamin Harris. Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Loretta Jean Deaton Harris; sons, Tim Harris (Pam) and Roger Harris (Robin), both of Effingham; daughter, Alice Bosma (Paul) of Nederland, CO; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Greenwood Baptist Church directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends following the service at the church.
