RITA GULIA LAUG FLORENCE, S.C. RITA GULIA LAUG, 84, of Florence, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015 after an illness. Mrs. Laug was born in Worcester, MA, a daughter of the late Domenico and Caterina Foppoli Gulia. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and had retired as a computer operator with Kellog-Brown and Root Engineering. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a brother, Egidio Gulia and a sister, Mary Bastardi. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, George William Laug, Jr of Florence, her sons; Stephen (Bernadette) Laug of St. Louis, MO, Mark Laug of Euless, TX, Thomas (Norey) Laug of Slidell, LA and Matthew Laug of Sherman Oaks, CA; her daughters; Judy (Mitchell) Calhoun of Florence and B.J. (Curt) Gowdy of Lake City; a sister, Pat Bodinzzo of Worcester, MA, and seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 30, 2015 at St. Anne Catholic Church. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Sunday, March 29 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the Wake Service.
