Richard Clark Ostrander

Rick “Coach Stran” Ostrander, 63, passed away of a heartattack Saturday evening, November 01, 2014 in a Florence hospital. Coach was born in Florence, SC a son of the late Guy Webster Ostrander and Lula Bell Clark Ostrander. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. He graduated from Southside High School and from Francis Marion College in 1975. He was employed as a Teacher and Football Coach for 30 years at Wilson, Latta, West Florence and Hartsville High Schools. Surviving are his children, Niki (Sam Outen) Ostrander of Columbia, Webb (Elaine) Ostrander of Florence; their mother Shirlene Ostrander of Darlington, step-son, Peirre Brown of Timmonsville; his mother, Faith Brown of Florence; 2 granddaughters, Madison and Ella; brothers, Steve Clark of Sumter and Guy Ostrander of Florida; sister, Sharon Holiday of Columbia. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 15th in the Auditorium at Wilson High School from 2-4pm.Dress will be very casual and the family would love to see attendees showing their school spirit.
