Richard Joseph Green

Richard Joseph Green, 73, ofFlorence, died Tuesday (2/3/15). He was born to the late Otto and Ella Greene,Aug 8, 1941 in Lakewood, N.J. After graduating Lakewood high school, Richard joined the U.S. Air Force where he served as a laboratory technologist on Shaw Air Force Base. He married the late Janice Phifer Green 1966, and they lived together in Wadesboro, N.C., before relocating to Florence in 1978. Beside his parents and late wife, Richard was preceded in death by his brother Edward Greene, of Beachwood, NJ; and his daughter Debbie Greene of Belmar, NJ. Richard is survived by three children: Lori Greene ofBelmar, NJ; Sharon G Hutchinson, of Florence; and Richard J. Green, Jr. (Amy) of Fort Mill, SC;brother, Otto (Pat) Greene, of Manahawkin, NJ; seven grand children - Christopher, Adam, Caleb, Davis, Katie, Aaron, and Mason; and seven nieces/nephews – Colleen, Kris, Jimmy, Michael, Dana, Wayne, Bryan. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Richard’s memory to The House ofHope of the Pee Dee, 1020 Darlington Street, Florence, SC29501 A visitation and memorial will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday (2/8/15) at Ebenezer Baptist Church (Fellowship Hall)in Florence, SC.
