Retha Mae Deyo

RETHA MAE DEYO Effingham, SC Retha Mae Deyo, 91, of Effingham, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at a local healthcare facility. Mrs. Deyo was born in Nashville, GA, a daughter of the late William G. Squires and Alice Elizabeth Buckholtz.She was a homemaker and former seamstress.Mrs. Deyo was a member of Unity Christian Fellowship Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Albert Deyo, Sr.; her daughter, Brenda Gail Matthews; her son, Frank Albert Deyo, Jr.; her brothers, William G. Squires, Jr., George M. Squires, and Richard J. Squires; and a half-brother, William McKinnely Hatchell. Surviving are her daughters, Alice Marie Poston, of Effingham, SC, and CherylAnn Safrit, of Salisbury, NC; heradoptive sister, Phyllis Ann Downing, of Andrews, SC; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2013 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
