Ray Stokes Putnam, 65, of North Myrtle Beach, formerly of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. Ray was born son to the late Roy Putnam and Elizabeth “Totsie” Stokes.Raised in Darlington, he attended Trinity United Methodist Church and graduated from St. John’s High School.Serving the public for many years, he was a project manager in the steel industry and active in the family restaurant, The Eat More. A member of Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church, he served as Past President of Parish Council.Fondly known as “Putt Putt”, he was loved by many and a friend to all. His family was the center of his life. Ray is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Irene Keretses Putnam; son, Stephen Putnam (Angela); granddaughter, Katherine Putnam; brother, Harvey Putnam (Marilyn); mother-in-law and father-in-law, Steve and Olga Keretses; brother-in-law and sister-in-law,Deno and Renee` Keretses; a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church. Entombment will follow at Mount Hope Mausoleum directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. A Trisagion Service will be held at 6:00 PM at the funeral home on Friday with visitation to follow till 8:00 PM.
