Ray Gladstone Legette

Ray Gladstone Legette, 91, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at the McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Mr. Legette was born in Florence, SC, son of the late Troy Legette and Vera Haselden Legette.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II as a small motor man and 30 caliber machine gun operator.He retired from the U. S. Post Office. Mr. Legette was active with Meals on Wheels. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Margaret Godbold Legette and Sara Huggins Legette, and his daughter, Cynthia Bullock. Surviving are his sons, Walter Legette of Illinois, Edwin Legette of Senecca, SC and Ernest Legette of Florence, SC; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
