Phyllis Turbeville Stokes Timmonsville, SC Phyllis Turbeville Stokes, 69, of Timmonsville, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the McLeod Hospice House. Mrs. Stokes was born in Florence, SC, a daughter of the late Everette Durved and Josephine Martin Turbeville.She retired from the Sunshine House after 30 years and was a member of Southside Baptist Church and Liberty Baptist Church.She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband, Larry W. Stokes and a brother, Bonnie Durwood "Son" Turbeville. Surviving are a son, Michael (Terra) Stokes of Timmonsville, SC; two daughters, Darla (DeCar) Prosser of Lake City, SC and Crystal (Richard) Poley of Florence, SC; six grandchildren, Whitney (Brandon) Anderson, Mary-Buddin Prosser, Brittany Owens, Jonathon Owens, Chandler Prosser, & Payton Prosser; two great-grandchildren, Landon "Judge" & Brook "Sunshine" Anderson; three brothers: Douglas "Buddy" (Betty) Turbeville and Everette "Slim" (Angie) Turbeville both of Florence, SC, Allen (Bonnie) Turbeville of Dovesville; and a sister, Betty Jo (Ernest "Lucky") Gifford of Anderson, SC. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 28, 2012 in the chapel of the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.Burial will follow in the Veterans' Section of the cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Memorials may be to the McLeod Hospice House, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the funeral home.
