Perliss Matthews

Perliss Matthews, 59, of Timmonsville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 16, 2014. Mr. Matthews was born in Florence County, a son of Joan Lee Matthews and the late LeRoy Matthews.He was the owner and operator of Americas Mattress and was a member ofElim Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, Mr. Matthews is survived by his wife of forty-two years, VickieMeetze Matthews; his children Laura Brewer (Wayne Coghill) of Lawrenceville, GA and Michael Matthews (Robin Truett) of Florence; his grandchildren, Abby Brewer, Gavin Brewer, Calla Truett and Chris Coghill; and his siblings, David (Rita) Matthews of Timmonsville, Betty (Bert) Friese of Waynesboro, GA, Roy Matthews of Timmonsville, and Brandy (Carlton) McKay of Florence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Elim Baptist Church directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm– 2:00 pm in the Moore Family Life Center at Elim Baptist Church on Tuesday.
