It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Daniel Cannon, who left this world at the age of 76 on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Paul was a man with a true heart of gold – kind, generous, and always ready to lend a helping hand or share a laugh with those around him.
Mr. Cannon was born in Florence, SC, the son of the late Oscar Draughn “Skeet” Cannon Jr. and Doris Suggs.
He worked faithfully for 37 years at the steel mill, where he was known as a hardworking and dependable man. Through the years he built not only a career but many lasting friendships.
He was an easygoing soul who believed life was meant to be enjoyed. Whether he was riding his motorcycle, spending time at the river, or relaxing with his beloved dogs, Buddy, Baby, and Maggie. Paul found happiness in the simple moments. His friendly nature and genuine spirit made it easy for him to make friends wherever he went, and he will be remembered by many.
Above all, Paul was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. They brought him endless joy, and he cherished every moment he spent with them. His love for his family was constant and unconditional, and the memories they shared will be treasured forever.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Gay Creedman.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Brenda E. Cannon; son, Daniel Cannon; daughter, Deanna (Trey) Alexander; grandchildren, Aubrey Cannon and Reese Alexander; sisters, Julie Tyler and Renee Rhodes; and many other family and friends.
He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his gentle heart, his love of life, and the happiness he brought to those around him.
Though he is gone from our sight, his love, stories, and memories will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
