Patricia Grimsley

Patricia Young Grimsley, 78, of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the McLeod Hospice House. Mrs. Grimsley was born in Timmonsville, SC, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Capella McGee Young. She was a graduate of the McLeod Infirmary Nursing School, and was an RN in the emergency department early in her career. She later retired from Honorage Nursing Center. She was a member of South Florence Baptist Church and loved her family, gardening, and caring for others. Surviving are her husband, David Grimsley of the home; a son, Ken (Laura) Grimsley of Florence; two daughters, Donna Grimsley of Columbia and Patty Grimsley of Florence; two brothers, Carroll (Karen) Young of Raleigh, NC and Larry (Bessie) Young of Timmonsville; a sister, Betty (Doyle) Abercrombie of Asheville, NC; and a granddaughter, Dani Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Don Young. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January, 4, 2016 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, P. O.
