Otis T. Kelley, Sr., 87, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at home surrounded by his family. Mr. Kelley was born in Darlington County, SC, a son of the late John C. Kelly and Louise Jones Kelly. He was a longtime member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Chairman of the Deacons, Superintendent and Sunday School Teacher.Mr. Kelley founded Carolina Typewriter in 1964. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kelley is preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Willie Ann Holmes Kelly; his children, Tommy (Betty) Kelly, Jr., Ruth (Gene) Boyce, Patricia (Mike) Boyce, all of Florence, Phyllis (Bob) Schuster of Anderson, Lawrence Kellyand Mylon (Melissa) Kelly, both of Florence; eleven grandchildren, Tripp Kelly, Jennifer Kelly Crawford, Gene Boyce, IV, Landon Boyce, Tiffany Boyce Olson, Quentin Boyce, Bree Boyce, Kelly Schuster, Sayler Schuster, Kyle Schuster and Arden Kelly; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and his “Pup Pup” Sadie Ann. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church.Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at the funeral home.
