NORWOOD WELCH GOODMAN FLORENCE, SC NORWOOD WELCH GOODMAN, 85, of Florence, passed away at the McLeod Hospice House of Florence. Mr. Goodman was born in Florence, SC a son of the late Marcus DeLafyette Goodman and Bessie Hancock Goodman.He was the owner of Dogwood Mobile Home Park in Florence, founder and co-owner of Carolina Typewriter Company and a member of Woodmen of the World. He was a Veteran of WW II having served in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Lorene Parnell Goodman, who died in 2001. Surviving are his children, Marsha G. Brown of Kingstree, Lisa G. (Eddie) Morgan, Marcus D. Goodman and Cheryl G. Cox, all of Florence; grandchildren, Amanda Goodman and Lauren Goodman. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorials be made to the Florence VFW, 236 S. Greer Road, Florence, SC29501. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at Mount Hope Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will follow, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Funeral Home.
