Nora Calcutt Gee Hodge

Nora Calcutt Gee Hodge Florence, SC Nora C. G. Hodge, 95, of Florence, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012 in a local hospital after an illness. Mrs. Hodge was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late James Henry and Elzie Dozier Calcutt. She was a retired sales associate from the JC Penney Co.Mrs. Hodge was a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she also had been teacher of the Companion Sunday School Class; and was a current member of Grace Baptist Church. She was the former owner of C & C Grocery on Second Loop Road. Mrs. Hodge was a volunteer for Carolinas Hospital for 25 years. Mrs. Hodge is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John Russell Gee; second husband, Leonard Hodge; 6 brothers, A.B. Calcutt, Joe Elvis Calcutt, Rufus R. Calcutt, A.L. Calcutt, W. Thomas Calcutt and E. Blease Calcutt; a special brother, John Henry Calcutt; and by 3 sisters, Irene C. Hewitt, Beatrice "Bea-t-mae" Poston, and Louise Broach. Mrs. Hodge is survived by a sister, Mary Kathleen Godwin, of Florence; special niece, Sandra Calcutt Cashwell, of Florence; special nephew, Burl Godwin, of Florence; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, June 30, 2012, in the chapel of Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1-2:00PM Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 2400 West Third Loop Road, Florence, SC 29501.
