Ms. Redish was born February 25, 1945, in Florence, SC, a daughter of the late J. Earl Redish and Mrs. Dora Williams Redish Gardner.She graduated from Georgia Southern University and completed her Master’s degree at University Of South Carolina, Columbia, SC.She was a teacher and social worker for Florence School District 1 and Richland County.She attended Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lexington, SC. In 2011 Jay moved to Charleston SC to be closer to family. Jay loved her family, grandchildren, her many cats and dogs over the years and the arts. Even though her death was sudden we are confident she is safe in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ whom she loved very much.Jay leaves behind loving brother George Edward Redish. Also surviving are her daughters, Elizabeth Albrittan LaRouque-Gotbeter ( Brittan ) her son in law Thomas Gotbeter and their children Thomas, Richard Hartley, Molly, Williams, Ruth and Annie. In addition, her youngest daughter AnnaBelle Braid LaRoque and daughter Emerson LaRoque Babcock.Other loving family includes two nephews, five great-nieces and great-nephews. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 pm Thursday July 30, 2020 at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Covid-19 protocol will be observed.
