Naomi Elizabeth Edgerton

Mrs. Edgerton was the daughter of the late P. W. and Getha Eagerton. She is survived by six sisters, one brother and preceded by a brother. She married Thaddeus Jackson (Jack) Edgerton on June 3, 1949.They have six surviving children and their spouses:Jackie Lynne Driver (Edward), Naomi Marie Poston (David), Paula Delores Edgerton, Thaddeus Jackson Edgerton, Jr. (Wendy), Roland Dene Edgerton (Kim) and Harold Gene Edgerton. She was a loving grandmother to twelve and great grandmother to eight. Mrs. Edgerton attended Florence Schools obtaining her GED at the age of 50.As a Christian lady she led a busy life.She was employed until she was 80 years old:sewing instructor and bookkeeper for Singer Company, retired from Florence District 1 as manager of cafeteria services, fashion advisor for Peebles Department Store and J.C. Penney Co. Inc.She achieved many certifications and continued education credits in these roles. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Stoudenmire Dowling Funeral Home, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 p.m.She will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery. Her lifetime devotion to Friendship United Methodist Church was where she provided a Christian foundation for her children and served as a teacher for classes and Bible School.One of her dearest, personal missions was to provide her garden flowers to the sanctuary.
