Myra Joyner Poston lived a life full of love, laughter, and meaningful connections. On January 9, 2026, she completed her earthly journey, leaving behind countless memories and a legacy of joy.
Myra was born in Florence, SC, on April 20, 1952. She and her family relocated to North Myrtle Beach where she attended and graduated from Wampee High School. Myra returned to Florence where she met the love of her life Ronnie Poston. She shared thirty-three loving years of marriage with Ronnie. He was her constant companion and greatest support.
Myra was known for her sense of humor, generosity, and strength. She brought light wherever she went. Myra and Ronnie were members of Pisgah United Methodist Church. She loved being involved with the Omar Shriners with her husband. She was an active member of the Lady Jazz Morticians for many years and a Daughter of The Nile. Myra and Ronnie loved cruises, trips to Pisgah Mountain and attending all Shriner functions. They never missed an opportunity to be shagging on the dance floor together.
Myra is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Marion Joyner and Maria Cottros Joyner; husband, James Ronald "Ronnie" Poston; brothers, Charlie Joyner, Glenn Joyner, and John Joyner; sister, Joan Cox.
Myra is survived by her sons, Tony (Susan) Poston, Ken Poston, and Glenn Poston; daughter, Lynn Seeger; very special nephew, Greg (Angela) Joyner; grandchildren, Mack Poston, Mattie Poston, Braiden Poston, Hunter Poston, Ashlyn Poston, Codie Seeger, Maria Seeger, and Kenneth Poston; very special grandniece, Anna Joyner; and one great grandchild.
Her legacy of compassion and strength will be remembered by all who knew her, who will continue to honor her life by living the same love and enthusiasm she shared so freely. Though she will be missed deeply, her spirit lives on in every life she touched.
