Morris J. Barnwell Timmonsville, SC Morris J. Barnwell, 81, of Timmonsville passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at a local healthcare facility. Mr. Barnwell was born in Fletcher, NC, a son of the late Annie Waldrop. He retired as a driver from Carolina Freight Carriers. Mr. Barnwell was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church in Asheville, NC. He attended Florence Baptist Temple and the Ray Barnwell Sunday School Class. Mr. Barnwell was preceded in death by his mother; and by his wife, Mary Smith Barnwell. Mr. Barnwell is survived by his two sons, Ray (Susan) Barnwell of Effingham, and Leon (Marylynn) Barnwell of Morganton, NC; a brother, Marvin Barnwell of Washington; 4 grandchildren, Chris (Candi) Barnwell, Andrew Barnwell, Amy Barnwell, and Ashley Barnwell; and 2 great-grandchildren, Dionte Code, and Aaliyah Greiser. Funeral services will be held 10:30am Thursday, February 23, 2012 in the chapel of Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will take place at 1:00pm Friday in the Gashes Creek Cemetery in Asheville, NC. The family will receive friends 7-9:00pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
