Moody Smith Hayes

Moody Smith Hayes, Jr., 90, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Mr. Moody was born a son of the late Ola Mae Flinchum Hayes and Moody Smith Hayes, Sr.He was a veteran of the US Navy and the owner and operator of Handi Services, retiring in 2003 after 40 years of business as a heating and air contractor.Mr. Hayes was a member of MECCA Lodgefor 62 years where he was past Lodge Master, a member of OMAR Shrine and the Eastern Star.He was also a member of Tans Bay Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Hinds Hayes; his sisters, Elizabeth Spooner, Rose Graham and Edna Spradley; and his brothers, John V. Hayes and C. Raymond Hayes. Mr. Hayes is survived by his son, Mark A. Hayes, Sr.; daughters, Linda Harris, Mariee Springs (Morrell), Wanda Duchock (Paul) and Pamela Lewis (Tony); nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Family will greet friends immediately after the service.
