Mitchel Wayne Hardee, 79, of Timmonsville, SC, passed away peacefully in the early morning of July 18, 2023. Mr. Hardee was born of the late Sarah Virginia and Lacy Lanue Hardee in Tabor City, NC on November 11, 1943. He was raised in Loris, SC. Mitchel (Mickey) graduated from Loris High School in 1961 and attended Coastal Carolina College. He worked as a branch manager for a corporate enterprise in Myrtle Beach, SC and later served in a similar capacity for a company in Florence. SC. He was a faithful member of the Florence Baptist Temple and enjoyed his Sunday school class very much. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many days in his boat searching for the perfect fishing hole. Mickey also enjoyed golfing. Mickey was married to Amy DuBose Hardee for 32 years and together they have four children: Deedee Hardee Vaughters (Bauer), Steece Allen Hayes (Julia), Sandy Hayes Herring (Freddie) and Jennifer Hardee Hoover (Jamie). They also share nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mickey had one sister with whom he shared his love for fishing, Phyllis Hardee Brogdan, and in addition to his parents, was predeceased by her husband, Butch Brogdan. He loved his many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at the Florence Baptist Temple on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 2:00 pm. There will be a time for visitation with the family one hour prior to the service.
