Miriam Roberta Alexander

Miriam Roberta Alexander, 81, of Scranton, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Mrs. Alexander was born a daughter of the late Thelma Carlene Lee Matthews and John Clayton Matthews.She was a retired Department Manager from Walmart after 25 plus years of employment.She was a member at Friendfield Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was a Sunday School Secretary and loved to sing in the choir. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, John Christopher Alexander. Mrs. Alexander is survived by her husband, John Len Alexander; daughters. Sharon Stafford (Tommy) and Debbie Cox (Gene) both of Scranton, Brenda Hewitt (Charles) of Hemingway and Barbara Ann Dease (George) of Scranton; nine grandchildren, Tonya, Miranda, Natalie, Frankie, Jennifer, Carla, Misti, Nicholas and Courtney; twelve great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. A private service will be held at Friendfield Pentecostal Holiness Church.Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
