MINNIE LEE PURVIS HUMPHREY FLORENCE, SC Minnie Lee Purvis Humphrey, 88, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015 in a Florence health care facility. Mrs. Humphrey was born in Florence Co., SC a daughter of the late Whiteford Purvis and Mary Elizabeth Turner Purvis.She had attended Amanda Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years and loved to fish.During the World War II effort, she was a welder in the Charleston Naval Yard and in their younger years, she and Jack loved to ride Harleys. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Dempsey Humphrey and a son, Thomas H. Humphrey. Surviving are her daughter, Shirley (C.J.) Sawyer of Florence; son, H.C. Humphrey of Florence; grandson, Cletus (Lacey) Sawyer, Jr.; great-grandchild, Bailee Marie Sawyer and sister, Lillian Bigelow. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM Saturday, June 20, 2015 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will be held at a later date in Florence Memorial Gardens.
