MELVIN OSTELL McDONALD FLORENCE, SC MELVIN OSTELL McDONALD, 70, of Florence, passed away Friday, March 01, 2013 at the McLeod Hospice House. Mr. McDonald was born in Florence Co., SC a son of the late Ostell Goodman McDonald and Hattie Lee McDonald.He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he participated in mission work with the Brotherhood of Calvary, was a member of the Les Hill Sunday School Class and constructed True Worship Baptist Church.He was president of M.B. Electric, Inc., a member of the Elks Lodge #1020 and a member of the Mental Health Association in Florence Co. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Pete McDonald and Jerry McDonald; sisters, Virginia Evans and Doris Floyd. Surviving are his wife of years, Rose Marie Lyerly McDonald of Florence; sons, William (Nora) McDonald and Jamie (Robin) McDonald, both of Florence; sisters, Clara Dell (Leslie) Caulder of Florence, Oree (David) Threadgill of Cheraw and Loree (Joe) Walters of Princeton, NC; stepchildren; Gene Elliotte of Orlando, Fl, Rene Elliotte of Darlington, Steve Elliotte and Donna Winegard, Rhonda Terweij, all ofFlorence,Natsha (George) Lee of Raleigh and Nicole (Victor) Burleson of Charleston; grandchildren, Riley McDonald, Will McDonald and John Curtis McDonald, Ray Winegard and Wyatt Winegard, Coleman Buckner, Luciana Lee and Maximillian Lee. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Brotherhood, 915 Cherokee Road, Florence, SC 29501. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church.Burial will follow in Poston Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
