Max Wilson Bennett

Max Wilson Bennett, 90, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014, after an illness. Mr. Bennett was born in Pamplico, SC, a son of the late Lawton and Minnie Munnerlyn Bennett.He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Navy in the South Pacific Theatre.Mr. Bennett attended Eastside Christian Fellowship. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bennett is preceded in death by his wife of thirty-one years, Kathleen Jernigan Moore Bennett and two sisters, Mildred Bennett Poston and Carol Bennett Pinkard and a brother, W. L. Bennett. Surviving are his children, Bruce (Mary) Bennett and Retta (Dale) Hanna, both of Pamplico; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and step-daughter, Dianne (Hal) Rowan and their daughter, Kristen Rowan of Florence. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Florence Memorial Garden Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
