Maudene Poston Leschinsky, departed this earthly home on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, and began her new home in heaven. God had given her all the blessings that Heaven sends and surely one of the greatest is loyal and faithful friends. Her Heart was aglow by the memories of her Godly parents, her two brothers, and all the other Christians who were important in her spiritual life. Some are in Heaven now, but they have left a legacy far more valuable than any material possession. As she diligently touched the lives of others, her desire and prayer was “Lord, help me to be the kind of person who leaves behind a lovely and lingering after-glow”! To all who ever knew her she would want to say: Someday, my candle will burn low and flicker into night. Will there be an after-glow to guide someone aright? Because usually, the glow from a good deed can linger for a life-time! Oh, so many friends she had like you are of intangible value. She had so much to remember over the past happy “by-gone days and years”, with the warmth of love and true lasting friendships. She continually strived to do things for God’s glory, and reach new tasks and by His grace to press toward the mark of His high calling. With the talents and strength he so richly blessed her with, she wanted to climb on. With her courage and zeal, she was able to keep pressing on the upward way, new heights she gained each and every day, still praying as she was onward bound, Lord, plant my feet on higher ground. Her remarkable perfectionate talent of sewing was used not only for her family but for anyone that asked. If she were still among us, she would want to say again “thank you, from a most sincere heart of love and appreciation”. Her life was beautiful in every way. She radiated from within her love and compassion for everyone. The winner of many cooking contests earned her notable prizes in SC and also out of State. Her hands were always busy, crafty and creative. She gave much love in everything she did and always kept her plate full to overflowing. Her tatting and crocheting were a few other things that she dearly loved. Her love of flowers kept her in tune with nature. She was a most exceptional, detailed thorough lady that could be depended on and a trusted confidant. She loved everyone, financial status of others did not stop her from always being willing to go that extra mile to treat others as she would have wanted to be treated. God chose her to witness to so many people along her 88 years of life. She will forever live on as a most cherished lady and she leaves with us many treasured memories that will remain sealed in our hearts forever. Her favorite color was blue, her favorite song was “It is Well With My Soul”, her favorite bible verse was Matthews 6:33. Mrs. Maudene Leschinsky and Mr. Leschinsky were married for 62 years. She was preceded by her husband, Charles, of Quinby, SC, for 5 years; parents, Lottie W. and S.B. Poston; two brothers, Phillip G. Poston of Hemingway and Albert Walker Poston of Luray, SC. She and her late husband were devoted parents of Leanne and Jason Leschinsky both of Quinby. They had two precious grandchildren, Ashley M. Leschinsky of Darlington and August Winter Leschinsky of Florence; several nieces and nephews, cousins and a life full of friends. We wish to thank all the staff at McLeod Regional Medical Center and McLeod Hospice House in Florence, also her doctors, nurses and all her friends for the overwhelming, undeniable love and visits, concern and prayers. Funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, November 01, 2013 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will follow at a later date in the Florence National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Quinby United Methodist Church, of which she was a charter member, 1247 E.
