Mary L "Peggy" Ward

Mary Lawrence “Peggy” Ward, 86, died Friday, October 25, 2013, at Laurel Gardens. Mrs. Ward was born in St. Matthews, South Carolina, a daughter of the late William T. Lawrence, Jr. and Dorothy Burgess Lawrence. She was a member of Elim Bible Church where she played the piano for many years and was also employed for a number of years at the Palmetto Center. She is predeceased by her husband, X. B. Ward, Jr. Surviving are her daughter, Dianne Ingram Ward of Florence; her sons, Steve (Linda) Ward of Georgia and Larry (Kay) Ward of Effingham; her grandchildren, Hope Middleton and Dennis Ward; and her great-grandchildren, Tanner Middleton, Parker Ward and Levi Ward. Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013, at Lawrence Cemetery in Effingham. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Stoudenmire Dowling Funeral Home.
