Mary "Tid" P. Bailey

Mary “Tid” P. Bailey, 85, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. Mrs. Bailey was born in the Mars Bluff Community of Florence County, a daughter of the late John Wilson Price and Mary Louise Felder Price. She was a lifetime member of Friendship United Methodist Church and a member of the Methodist Women, the Asbury Sunday School Class, the Church Speed Limit Club and Woodmen of the World.Tid Bailey was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She inspired all who knew her through her kindness, strong faith, and enormous capacity to love. If you knew her, you were family. She loved without judgment, gave generously, and prayed fervently with faith and expectation. She leaves behind a legacy of love. "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13 Surviving are her son, John William “Billy” (Ginger) McLeod; daughters, Mary Lynn McLeod (Jeff) Peter and Gayle McLeod (Ron) Morris; step-children, Robin Bailey, Randy Bailey, Michael Bailey and Melanie Hudson; seventeen grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred D. “Buddy” Bailey. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Friendship United Methodist Church.Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-DowlingFuneral Home. Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses of McLeod Regional Medical Center and the staff of the Heritage Home of Florence for the exceptional care they provided during her illness. Memorials may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, 5422 East Old Marion Highway, Florence, SC 29506.
