Mary Katherine Thomas

Mary Katherine Thomas, 79, of Cheraw, SC, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

She was born in Milan, TN, the daughter of the late Ishmael Parsons and Nellie Viola Jarrett Parsons. Mrs. Thomas was a very simple woman, who enjoyed working in her yard.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Thomas.

Surviving are her son, Steven Carl Hall, of Pokehaus, VA; daughter, Susan Carol (Jeff) Lee, of Florence, SC; sisters, Judy Holland, of Florence, SC, Donna Kidd, of Swansboro, GA, and Katie Tullis, of Dyserburg, TN; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to a charity of one’s choice.

The family will have a funeral service at 11:00 AM, on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Entombment will follow after the service.
