MARY ELLEN HUMMEL SOULANTIKAS TIMMONSVILLE, SC Mary Ellen Hummel Soulantikas, 79, of Timmonsville, SC passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016. Mrs. Soulantikas was born in Chicago, IL a daughter of the late John Hummel and Catherine Emily Franz Hummel.She was a member of the Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church and retired from McLeod after serving as a NICU Technician and ward secretary. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John George Soulantikas and son, James John Soulantikas. Surviving are her son, George John (Robin) Soulantikas of Florence; daughter, Christina Soulantikas of Timmonsville; grandchildren, Lindsay (Dusty) Hopkins and Morgan Soulantikas; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Hopkins, John Carson Hopkins and McKinzley “Kinzley” Hopkins; brother, John Hummel of Chicago, IL and sisters, Catherine “Kay” (Phil) Henning of Florida and Carol Marie (Jim) Hausheer of Florida. There will be a Trisagion service at 6:00 PM Wednesday in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel with the family receiving friends afterward.They will not have another central location for visitors. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 22, 2016, at the Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church.Burial will follow in the Florence Memorial Gardens.
