Mary C. Edwards Lyerly

Mary C. Edwards Lyerly, 91, of Florence, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019. Mrs. Lyerly was born in Florence, SC a daughter of the late Leslie Edwards and Georgia Summerford Edwards.She was a member of Unity Baptist Church where she was a member of the Widow’s Class and served as President of the Catherine Isgett Class.She retired from Baxter Lab of Kingstree. We lost our mama, our Grandma, our Neena, our Sister, and our friend today.She will be missed but forever in our hearts.Through all the good and bad times, whether showing how to make biscuits or a simple good night, I love you, her little light was always shining bright.We hope the light she sparked in our lives will shine as bright as hers.She loved her family and friends, but most of all she loved her Lord and Savior.Today her faith is seen and we have peace knowing she is in His loving arms. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, CM Edwards, Billy Edwards, and Derioux Edwards; sisters, Verna Mercuri, Vera Holt, and Muriel Tanner. Surviving are her sons, Larry L. (Sherry) Lyerly of the home and Jimmy Lyerly of Florence; daughter, Barbara Ann (the late Milton E.) Taylor, of Florence; grandchildren, Eric Taylor of Myrtle Beach, Wade Taylor, Denise Heaster, Chad (Shannon) Lyerly, all of Florence, Lori Lyerly of Houston, TX, and Seth Lyerly of the home; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne (Shelby) Edwards of Charleston, SC and Lee (Gwen) Edwards of Lake City, SC; sister, Georgia Lee (Earl) Watson, of Brittons Neck, SC; sister-in-law, Shirley (the late Pete) Poston, of Greenville, SC, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Baptist Church, 2990 Pamplico Highway, Florence, SC29505. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home and other times at her residence.
