Mary Jane Simpson Campbell, 90, of Florence, died at home on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, after a long illness. Mrs. Campbell was the daughter of the late Mary Blanche Taylor Simpson and Wales Theodore Simpson. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Henry Martin Campbell, Jr.; seven brothers, Weldon, Marvin, Louie, Calvin, Delbert, Jack and Guy Simpson; and four sisters, Cecile Jaymes, Hazel Lollis, Sara Book and Callie Simpson Mary Jane is survived by her daughter, Debi Campbell of Florence; and sons, Hank Campbell of Florence, Michael (Sandra) Campbell of Charleston, and Jimmy (Joni) Campbell of Pendleton; grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) Campbell, Rachel (Bobby) Morrow, Erin (Jordan) Whitehead, Summer (J.C.) Henderson and Dakota Milner; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Oliver and Eleanor Campbell, Mary Catherine, Elizabeth and Charlotte Morrow, Conner and Keira Haugh; and her beloved grand-dogs Nick, Noelle and Ava. She worked with the State of South Carolina in several capacities. She retired from the SC Department of Social Services. She was a long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church in Florence, SC. Her hobbies included golf, gardening, lunch outings with friends, beach trips, traveling (especially Hawaii). Mrs. Campbell was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM on Thursday at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel and will be live streamed by Calvary Baptist Church at www.calvarycares.com. Burial will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Anderson, SC.
