Mary Elizabeth Gray Ivey

MARY ELIZABETH GRAY IVEY FLORENCE, S.C. MARY ELIZABETH GRAY IVEY, 66, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013 at her residence after an illness. Mrs. Ivey was born in Dillon, a daughter of the late Travis and Sarah Hatcher Gray. Following her retirement from Bank of America, she began working for the Florence County Treasurer’s Office. She served as a pastor’s wife, supporting him in his ministry. She also served the Ladies Ministry in the S.C. Pentecostal Holiness Church, and taught many Adult Sunday School Classes. She loved interior decorating in her home, and loved to fish. Surviving are her husband of 29 years, Henry Albert Ivey, Jr., 3 children, 2 grandchildren, 3 sisters and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Florence Memorial Gardens, with the family receiving friends following the service at the graveside. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of one’s choice. Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
