Mary C. Griffith

Mary C. Griffith, 96, of Lake City, died on Saturday, October 21, 2017. She was born in Mayfield, KY, a daughter of the late Allen Thomas Wooldridge and Mary Grace McChesney Wooldridge.She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.In Kentucky, she spent many hours volunteering at nursing homes and making quilts for her church to raffle off. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Charles Frances Cronin, Sr. and Homer Griffith; daughter, Judith Ann Kender. Surviving are her son, Charles F.(Tricia) Cronin, Jr. of Greenville, SC; daughter, Andrea C. (Chet) Foyle of Lake City; grandchildren, Julie Foster of Melbourne, FL, Steve Kender of Greenville, SC and Charles and Luke Foyle, both of Lake City; great-grandchildren, Sydney and Drew Kender of Greenville; brother, Charles Michael Wooldridge of Tucson, AZ and sister, Sue Martin of Austin, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, www.stvincentdepaul.net or to St. Anthony Catholic Church, 2536 Hoffmeyer Road, Florence, SC 29501. A rosary service will be held at 6:00 PM Monday, October 23, 2017 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with a vigil to follow. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 11:00 AM Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church.Burial will take place in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Clarkson, KY at a later date.
