Mary Edwards Roberts

Mary Edwards Roberts Effingham, SC Mary Edwards Roberts, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday evening, September 22, 2012. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Committal services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Highway 261-E., Hemingway. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Ken (Michele) Johnson. Mrs. Roberts was born in Chatham Co., Georgia, daughter of the late Perry and Estelle Pittman Edwards. She had been employed with Wellman in Johnsonville and had attended The Church of God of Prophecy in Florence. She was preceded by her parents; husband, Marvin Hilton Roberts; son, J.P. Lynch; daughter, Violet Johnson; brothers, I.V. Edwards and Vernon Edwards and agreat-grandchild. Surviving are a son, Leon Edward Lynch of Georgia; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren. The family request that memorial contributions be made to The Church of God of Prophecy, 426 S. Church Street, Florence, SC 29506. The family would like to express their appreciation to Carolinas Hospice and to Elliese Moniz for the exceptional care they gave to Mrs. Roberts.
