Mary Lee Carraway

Mary Lee Carraway, 92, of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

She was born in Florence County, SC, the daughter of late Ben Hudson and Effie Mae Welch Hudson. Mrs. Carraway was a longtime member of Florence Baptist Temple. She adored her beloved grandchildren and cats.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, of 49 years, Eddie O’Neal Carraway; daughter, Cheryl McAlister; sons, Leo Carraway and Jack Carraway; brothers, Henry Hudson, Billy Hudson, Jack Hudson, David Hudson and Paul Hudson; and sisters, Lucille Jenkins and Effie Mae Mitchell.

Surviving are her children, Edwin O’Neal Carraway, Mary (George) Blackmon, and Scott Douglas (Wanda) Carraway; grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Carraway and Tiffany Blackmon; great-grandchildren; Amber Carraway, Bryce Carraway, Connor Carraway, Khloe Carraway, Drake Britt, and Townsend Britt; and brothers, Ben Hudson and Gene Hudson.

The family would like to invite friends to home of Scott Douglas Carraway, 2621 East Homewood Avenue, Florence, SC 29505, any time this weekend or after the funeral.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Monday, July 20, 2026, at the funeral home. The burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens.
