Marvin Dean Cockfield

Marvin Dean Cockfield, 57, of Florence, SC, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015.Dean received injuries from an automobile accident on Wednesday, August 26, 2015. Dean was the son of Marvin and Carol Floyd Cockfield and was born July 19, 1958, in Florence, SC.He graduated in the first class of South Florence High School and attended Francis Marion University prior to serving in the US Navy for four years.After his discharge from the Navy, he began a thirty year career with U.S. Airways in Charlotte, NC. Dean married Loretta Lynn Sanders on July 26, 1984.They were blessed with a son, Mitchell Dean, on December 6, 1985, in Charlotte, NC. Dean is survived by his parents; his wife, Lynn of Anchorage, Alaska; his son, Mitchell of Florence; two sisters, Leesa Martins of Waxhaw, NC and Laura (Jeff) French of Charlotte, NC; an aunt, Vivica Lynn Floyd of Columbia, SC; two nephews, Brian Martins of Waxhaw, NC and Justin French of West Point, NY and a niece, Lauren Martins of West Jefferson, NC.
