Marvin Cockfield, 86, of Murrells Inlet, SC, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021. Mr. Cockfield was born in Lake City, SC, a son of the late Leo Cockfield and Pearl Gause Cockfield. He graduated from Lake City High School and attended Clemson University, as well as was a long-time member and representative of IPTAY. He worked for the U.S. Post Office for more than 32 years and is a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Cockfield attended Central United Methodist Church and was a Mason and Shriner for over 50 years. He was also a long time member of WOW. He is predeceased by his parents; son, Marvin Dean Cockfield; and brother, Donald Cockfield. Surviving are his wife, Carol Floyd Cockfield; daughters, Laura (Jeff) French of Charlotte, NC and Leesa Martins of Wesley Chapel, NC; grandchildren, Brian Martins, Mitchell ( fiancé Holly Evans) Cockfield, Lauren Martins, and Justin (Megan) French; and great-grandchild, Pierce French. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 M on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 14, 2021 at the Florence National Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
