Marshall Glen Powell

MARSHALL GLEN POWELL EFFINGHAM, S.C. MARSHALL GLEN POWELL, 73, of Effingham, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 at his residence after an illness. Mr. Powell was born in the Hannah Community, a son of the late Richard and Gladys Wise Powell. He had served his country in the US Army, and had retired from the US Postal Service. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cheryl McGee Powell of Effingham; 2 children, Heather Powell (Timmy) Hooks of Lake View and Marsha Glenda Powell of Effingham; grandson, Andrew McKeithan Brown; siblings, Legrand Powell, Clara McElveen and Marilyn Anderson; his uncle, Earl Wise, and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, November 27 in the Chapel of Florence Baptist Temple. Burial will follow in Florence National Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11 A.M.-12 P.M. in the Chapel.
