MARION L. “PETE” DuBOSE, JR. Florence, SC Marion L. “Pete” DuBose, Jr., 68, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. Mr. DuBose was born in Lake City, SC a son of the late Marion L. “Ted” DuBose, Sr. and Marley Powell DuBose.He retired from Delta Mills in 2005, volunteered at the Leatherman Senior Center and was an avid bowler.He loved his family and his dog, “Baby Girl” Maggie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion L. “Ted” DuBose, Sr. and Marley Powell DuBose; infant daughter, Penelope Lynn DuBose; brother, James T. “Jimmy” DuBose and sister, Patsy Pearce. Surviving are his wife, Frances Seagroves DuBose; daughters, Melinda (Ricky) McKnight and Kristin Powell (Jimmy Burch); grandson, Curtis Seth DuBose; sister, Liz (Clifford) Matthews and brother-in-law, Ellison Pearce. Memorials may be made to the family or to Pruitt Cares Foundation, C/O PruittHealth Hospice, 609 S. Coit Street, Florence, SC29501. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation for services rendered from Pruitt Hospice (Lauren, Tabitha, Carolyn and Nancy) and to family members, Ricky McKnight and Curtis DuBose. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, February 2, 2017 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow in Lake City Memorial Park.
