Marion Jerald Brown, 75, of Florence passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 208. Mr. Brown was born a son of the late Murdock Brown and Lilly Bell Coker Brown.He graduated from Olanta High School in 1962.Mr. Brown was a member of Southside Baptist Church.He was the owner and operator of Marion J. Brown Detective Agency for forty-five years, was the owner of Brown’s Kitchen and Catering and a former Deputy Sheriff with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.He was a member of the SCALI, SCLEOA, NAPPS, SCPDIA and a current board member of the Plantation Resort HOA.Mr. Brown was a founder of Howe Spring Fire Department, a sponsor of Delmae Ruritan Baseball League and a longtime member of Blue Water Fishing Club.His hobbies included deep sea fishing, BBQing and sharing a laugh with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Debra B. Kennedy. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Deloris Smith Brown; daughter, Jeri B. Goff (Danny) of Elgin; sons, Jerald Brown (Renee) of Florence and Almon “Al” M. Brown (Gayle) of Lexington; grandchildren, Brad Kennedy (Kim), Blaine Kennedy, Emily McCutcheon (Steven), Darby Morrison and Dylan Morrison. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Southside Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Singletary Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Singletary Cemetery, P. O.
