Marie Taylor Tomlinson

Marie Taylor Tomlinson, 93, of Florence, formerly of North Augusta, SC, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018. Mrs. Tomlinson was born a daughter of the late Joseph Whitfield Taylor and Rachael Helen Godwin Taylor. She graduated from Florence High School and retired from Clearwater Finishing Plant in Belvedere, SC, where she worked as an administrative assistant. Mrs. Tomlinson was a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church of North Augusta, SC.She was an avid photographer, SPOLETO aficionado, had a great love for cats and was a shopaholic.She enjoyed the Atlanta Braves and NASCAR.Mrs. Tomlinson was a loving Aunt, sister and friend. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Carl W. Tomlinson; sisters, Thadys Broach, Flora Mae Hutchinson and Lily Sewell; brothers, Sam Taylor and Jim Taylor. Mrs. Tomlinson is survived by her sisters, Margaret Grimsley of Florence and Gladys McGee (Ervin) of Callahan, FL; sister-in-law, Leona Tomlinson of Florence; special nephew, Cliff Grimsley of Dallas, NC; special nieces, Trudy Hess of Charleston, SC and Beverly Capps of Florence, SC; and many additional nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will greet friends immediately following the service. The family wishes to express their special thanks to the loving Elmcroft family and Homestead Hospice team.
