MARIE BOWICK LEWIS Florence, S.C. Marie Bowick Lewis, 79, of Florence, died Tuesday, September 28, 2010 in a Florence hospital after an illness Mrs. Lewis was born in Charleston, S.C., a daughter of the late Francis and Dorothy Craven Bowick. As one of the early members of Highland Park United Methodist Church, she was one of the first choir members and was the first secretary of the church. She was a member of the Frances Asbury Sunday School Class, a member of the Circle, a former Sunday School Teacher, and had served on numerous church committees. She had retired as Office Manager of Carolina Barber & Beauty Supply. She loved gardening, cross stitching and needlework, but most of all, she loved her Lord and was His good and faithful servant. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Eugene Allen Lewis of Florence; sisters; Vaigneur B. Kotab of Charleston and Sherrie B. Nicholson of Park City, Fl; Brother, William Bowick of Seattle, WA., several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Tiger. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 3, 2010 in Highland Park United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
