Margaret Lawhon Wilkes

Margaret Lawhon Wilkes, 61, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018. Mrs. Wilkes was born a daughter of H. W. Turner, Sr. and Daisy Eloise Morris Turner.She retired as co/owner and operator of A. M. Cars. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Exley Arvle Wilkes; former husband, Billy Lawhon; son, Billy Keith Lawhon of Florence; step-son, Jason Wilkes of Hartsville; daughter, Brandy Hatchell (Matt) of Effingham; step-daughter, Brandy Zeller of Hartsville; grandchildren, Lane Hatchell, Lilly Hatchell, Piper Zeller, Peyton Zeller, Olivia Wilkes, Preston Wilkes, Madeline Wilkes and Noah Wilkes; brothers, Bo Turner of Florence and Kip Turner of Effingham; and sisters, Judy Craig of Effingham, Edith Watts of Effingham, Connie Braddock of Florence and Jeannie Strickland of Effingham. Mrs. Wilkes is predeceased by her sister, Joanne Gainey. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2018, at the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Turner Cemetery in Effingham.
