Margaret Elizabeth Hall

August 6, 1928 — February 20, 2018

Margaret Elizabeth Ball Hall, 89, of Pamplico, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Mrs. Hall was born on August 6, 1928 in Baxter Springs, Kansas, the daughter of Ward Caleb Ball and Margaret Hughes Ball. She was a graduate of the Class of 1946 of Baxter Springs High School in Baxter Springs, Kansas. She was also a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University with a degree in Music where she was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, an international music fraternity. She attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas where she met the love of her life, the late Reverend Bruce Allard Hall. She served as Minister of Music at Mt. Zion Baptist Church for nearly 40 years retiring as Minister of Music Emeritus. During her years of service at Mt. Zion alongside her husband, she founded the Mt. Zion Ringers handbell choir, directed a community youth choir, the One Way Singers, as well as other groups, and played the organ, piano, and conducted the sanctuary choir. She also taught numerous students piano, voice, and organ. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 61 years, the Rev. Bruce A. Hall, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Caleb Ball, sister Mrs. Jaqueline Ball Mitchell, and brother Mr. James Hughes Ball. Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca “Becki (Rodney) Hall Poston of Pamplico, granddaughters Anna (Kevin) Poston Todd of Florence and Stephanie Rebecca Poston of Pamplico, great-grandsons K.C., Kaden, and Caleb Todd of Florence, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was loved by all and her kind and gentle spirit shared the love of Christ with all she knew. Entombment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery Mausoleum at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 22, with a memorial service at 4:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1883 South Pamplico Highway, Pamplico, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Visitation will follow the service at the church and the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Poston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rev. Bruce A. and Margaret B. Hall Memorial Scholarship c/o Mt. Zion (1883 S. Pamplico Hwy., Pamplico, SC 29583).
