Margaret Hyman Carroway

Margaret Hyman Carroway, 66, of Florence, SC went home to be with the Lord, Monday, July 23, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Margaret was born in Florence County, SC the daughter of Genell Matthews Hyman and the late Hoyt LeGrande Hyman. She was a member of Florence Baptist Temple, the Kent Kendall Sunday School Class and the Gloria Reynolds Bible Study Class. Margaret was a graduate of Lake City High School and was employed by her family business, Hyman Furniture Store “The Little Red Barn.” She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her three sons, Jason Dean Carroway of Florence, Philip Spencer (Lauren) Carroway of Beaufort, SC and Matthew Hyman (Hope) Carroway of Florence; mother, Genell Matthews Hyman of Lake City; brother, Kent LeGrande Hyman of Lake City; and three grandsons, Caleb Carroway, Spencer Carroway and Heath Carroway; and a granddaughter,Caitlyn Carroway. The family wants to thank her two best friends from childhood, Trell Dennis Mauer and Wanda Elmore Grooms for being there throughout her life. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:30 PM on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Florence Baptist Temple. Burial will follow at Lake City Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Frank Monroe Scholarship Fund – 2308 S. Irby St. Florence, SC 29505 or the American Cancer Society. The family wants to thank Dr. Pavy and his staff as well as the staff of McLeod Hospice for all the love and care for Margaret over the past few years.
