Mrs. Maedell Monroe, 80 years old, wife, mother, sister, and friend, of Myrtle Beach, SC got her wings on Sunday, January 12, 2020 and went to walk with the angels.It would be wrong to say that she lost her battle because she never stopped fighting.No matter how sick she was, she was always smiling and happy.When anyone else would have broken, Mom kept her faith.Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like.There was no quit in Mom.Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight. Mrs. Monroe was born in Troy, Alabama, daughter of the late Jake Hall and Clemmie Hall.She was a graduate of Dale Carnegie and retired from General Dynamics.She was a member of Mt. Calvary in Orangeburg, SC and a member of Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Myrtle Beach, SC where she was a Deaconess, active member of the Sisterhood Ministry, past president of the Outreach Ministry, active in Bible Study and Prayer Ministries, Awesome Adult Sunday school teacher, Mass Choir member, and wonderful prayer partner.She was also active in the Orangeburg and Myrtle Beach communities. She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin brother, Adell Hall and by a grandson, E.A. Left to cherish memories are her husband, Ben Monroe of Myrtle Beach; son, Johnny (Paulette) Wallace; daughters, Rhonda (Victor) Johnson, Debra (Dean) Irvin, Delores (Earnest) James, and Tonia (Charles) Taylor; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; step-children, Ben Monroe, Jr., Mark Anthony (Linda) Monroe, Kevin Lee (Modestine) Monroe, Tracy Allen (Mary) Monroe, and Andrea Monroe; brothers, Jack Hall, John Ray Hall, and Clem Hall; sisters, Fannie Mae Alston, Frances Hamilton, and Helen Lacey. The family will receive friends from 11 – 12 Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1008 Carver Street, Myrtle Beach, SC29577 with the service to follow at 12:00 noon in the church sanctuary. Committal services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at the Florence National Cemetery, Florence, SC.
