Lyndon Randolph "Randy" Lewis Florence, SC Lyndon Randolph "Randy" Lewis, 92, of Florence, formerly of North Myrtle Beach, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013 in the Presbyterian Home of Florence. Mr. Lewis was born in Frankfort, KY, a son of the late Alonzo Andrew and Laura Gertrude Cheek Lewis.He was a member of the greatest generation of our country having served as a fighter pilot during WWII.Mr. Lewis flew with the Flying Tigers in the 14th Army Air Corps, 23rd Fighter Group, 75th Fighter Squadron in which he flew 66 combat missions and over 300 hours.He received the DFC, Air Medal, Air Force Commendation Medals as well as the Air Force Unit Citation.Mr. Lewis was a member of Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church and a life member of the14th AFA, VFW, and the Air Force Association. Surviving are his loving wife of 68 years, Mirian Ammons Lewis; a son, Lane Andrew (Sue) Lewis of Hartsville; a daughter, Vivian Eileen (Jim) Dabbs of Lewisville, NC; three grandchildren, Julia (Steece) Hayes, Jennifer Lewis, and James (Emilie) Dabbs; and a great-grandchild, Kourtney Stanton. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home of Florence.
