Lyndal Gale Matthews

Lyndal Gale Matthews, 76, of Effingham, SC, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025.

She was born in Goldsboro, NC, the daughter of the late Roland Anderson and Rev. Lyndal Evelyn Stone Anderson. Mrs. Matthews was an avid reader, who enjoyed spending time with her family and her three fur babies, Digger, Little Baby and Peanut. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and a friend of all.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, John Billy Matthews, Jr.; siblings, Pete Stone and Lucille Grey; and mother-in-law, Estelle Virginia Matthews.

Surviving are her husband, of 38 years, John Billy Matthews; son, David Roland (Nadja) Jackson; daughters, Wendy Michelle Hinson and Christy Deanna Norris; stepdaughter, Angela Marie Mullins; grandchildren, Barbara (David) Tyler, Daina (Justin) Shell, Jesse Jay (Amanda) Hinson, Matthew Todd (Jillian) Jackson-Eschtruth, Brent Thomas Beck, Ruben Broja, Isabella Rose Jackson, Joshua Ryan Jackson, Noah Mullins, Nick Matthews, Madison Matthews and Dawson Matthews; and 11 great-grandchildren.
