Lula Marie Edwards Hardwick

Lula Marie Edwards Hardwick, 90, of Florence, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 22, 2013, at the McLeod Hospice House. Ms. Hardwick was born in Horry County, SC, a daughter of the late Tilman Edwards and Julia Gerald Edwards.She was a member of Unity Baptist Church.She was a homemaker for most of her life and later retired from Southside School cafeteria.Ms. Hardwick was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her son, Lynwood A. Hardwick; her brothers, Harry Edwards, Clarence Edwards and Hilton Edwards; and her sister, Ruth Collins. Surviving are her children Paul M. (Roxanne) Hardwick, David H. (Verna) Hardwick, and Clarice H. (Larry) Gardner, all of Florence; her brother, Laverne Edwards of Summerville; her sister, Evelyn Huggins of St. George; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 27, 2013, at Unity Baptist Church directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Paul and Roxanne Hardwick, 2211 Yeargin Cove, Florence, SC.
