Ludie Hanna Jernigan, 88, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at McLeod Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.She was born in Florence County, September 24, 1927, the daughter of the late Murdy and Aszlee Poston Hanna. She and her husband, Bruce McKinley Jernigan, were the co-owners and operators of Reliable Sales Company and The Carpet Center, as well as other entities for many years. She was the oldest charter member of West Florence Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Paula J. (“Monk”) Turner of Florence, Mary J. (J.D.) Surles of Chapin, SC and Bruce “Kim” McKinley (Debra) Jernigan of Florence; two grandsons, Scottie R. (Amy) Turner of Pamplico, SC and Justin M. Keefe of Osnabruck, Germany; two great-grandchildren, Kathyrn Turner and McKinley Turner of Pamplico, SC; sister, Joye Hanna Flowers of Pamplico, SC and several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce McKinley Jernigan, her parents and two brothers, Carlise Hanna and Odell Hanna. The funeral service will be held Friday, January 22, 2016 at 12:00 Noon in Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel.The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 12:00 prior to the service in the Mausoleum Chapel.Private burial to follow directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home The family would like to thank the Heritage Home and also the staff of McLeod CCU unit for their care.
